2026 California Primary Election - June 2, 2026

Who can vote? A United States citizen and a resident of California who is 18 years old or older on Election Day.

2026 Key Dates and Deadlines 

  • May 4 - Ballots will begin to be mailed.
  • May 5 - Ballot drop-off locations open. 
  • May 18 - Last day to register to vote in November 2025.
  • May 23 - Vote centers open for early in-person voting.
  • June 6 - Statewide Special Election. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
  • June 9 - Vote-by-mail ballots must be received and postmarked on or before Election Day.
